World-Class Sport & Leisure Fishing in East Africa
Kenya’s geographic diversity makes it one of the premier angling destinations on the African continent. Blessed with over 500 kilometers of tropical Indian Ocean coastline and rich inland freshwater ecosystems, the country offers exceptional fishing opportunities year-round. At Stejos Tours and Travel, our fishing packages and sport charters combine professional gear, skilled local skippers, and private transfers to deliver unforgettable waterborne adventures.
Whether you are targeting pelagic game fish in deep oceanic drop-offs or casting for freshwater species against the backdrop of scenic rift valley lakes, we customize every trip to match your preferred fishing style, group size, and itinerary pace.
Coastal Deep-Sea Fishing: Watamu, Diani & Malindi
Kenya’s North and South Coasts are world-famous for big game ocean fishing, drawing international anglers eager to experience the "Fantasy Slam"—catching three distinct billfish species in a single day.
-
Watamu & Malindi: Known as the epicenter of Kenya's sport fishing industry, the rich currents of the Watamu Marine National Reserve area provide fast access to deep waters home to Blue, Black, and Striped Marlin, Sailfish, Wahoo, Kingfish, and Dorado (Mahi-Mahi).
-
Diani & The Pemba Channel: Located along the South Coast, the deep Pemba Channel offers ideal sea conditions for heavy-tackle bottom fishing and surface trolling, targeting Yellowfin Tuna, Broadbill Swordfish, and Giant Trevally.
-
Responsible Catch-and-Release: We partner with certified, environmentally conscious charter captains who practice tag-and-release for all billfish, ensuring the preservation of Kenya's fragile marine biodiversity.
Inland Lake & Alpine Fly Fishing Expeditions
For anglers seeking calmer waters or scenic freshwater escapes, Kenya’s Rift Valley lakes and central highlands provide peaceful, highly rewarding options:
-
Lake Naivasha & Lake Victoria: Take a guided motorboat excursion across Lake Naivasha to fish for Nile Tilapia and Black Bass while surrounded by hippos, fish eagles, and dramatic volcanic scenery.
-
Highland Fly Fishing: Venture to the cool, clear mountain streams of the Aberdare Range or the foothills of Mount Kenya, where secluded river pools yield vibrant Rainbow and Brown Trout.
Combining a morning freshwater trip with a scenic guided nature walk or an afternoon coffee farm tour creates a balanced, multi-activity day trip for families, small groups, and corporate outings.
