Day 1: Arrival in Kigali

Meet your Stejos Tours representative at Kigali International Airport and transfer to the Kigali Serena Hotel. Dinner and overnight stay.

Day 2: Remembrance & The Volcanoes

Morning visit to the Kigali Genocide Memorial Centre. After lunch, take a scenic drive through the rolling hills to the Volcanoes National Park region. Check into your lodge for dinner.

Day 3: The Gorilla Encounter

Early morning briefing at the RDB offices. Embark on your Gorilla Trekking adventure in the misty slopes. In the afternoon, visit the Ellen DeGeneres Campus to learn about research and conservation efforts.

Day 4: Golden Monkeys & Departure

Trek to find the playful Golden Monkeys. After the trek, begin your return journey to Kigali for your departure flight.

What should I wear for trekking?

We recommend sturdy hiking boots, long trousers, long-sleeved shirts, and garden gloves to protect against nettles. A waterproof jacket is essential as it can rain at any time in the forest.

How difficult is the trek?

Gorilla trekking can take between 2 to 6 hours depending on the movement of the families. The terrain can be steep and muddy; however, the park assigns groups based on fitness levels.

Is the permit price included?

Yes, this package fully includes the USD 1,500 Gorilla Permit, which is the most significant cost of the trip.
