Is Tsavo better than the Maasai Mara for a festive holiday?
Tsavo offers a much more rugged, "wild" feel and is generally less crowded than the Mara during the festive season. The landscape in Tsavo West is also significantly more diverse (mountains, springs, and lava flows).

Yes, the Nairobi-Mombasa highway is a major artery. However, it can be busy during the festive season. We depart early (6:30 AM) to beat the traffic and ensure you arrive in time for lunch.
Can children join this safari?
Absolutely! This is one of our most family-friendly packages. Lodges like Salt Lick are particularly exciting for children as they can see animals from the safety of the elevated walkways.
What is the weather like in Tsavo in December?
December is generally warm and sunny in Tsavo, making it a perfect escape from the colder climates. Some light "short rains" may occur, but they rarely disrupt game drives.
